Privacy statement

This Privacy Statement explains how EatClic collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use our websites, the EatClic customer application for ordering meals, or the EatClic driver application for delivery partners. Together, these are called the Services.

EatClic operates a marketplace in Algeria that connects customers, restaurant partners, and delivery partners. Restaurants remain responsible for personal data they handle in their own operations outside the EatClic apps. If you have questions about how we process personal data, use the contact details at the end of this Statement or in the footer of our website.

Personal data in this Statement

Personal data means information that identifies you or can be linked to you, such as your name, telephone number, email address, delivery address, account identifiers, or certain device information connected to your account. Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be traced back to you falls outside this definition.

Customer accounts and profiles

When you register or maintain a customer account, we may process:

  • Identity and contact details (for example name, phone number, email address)
  • Saved addresses and delivery preferences you choose to store
  • Login credentials or tokens needed to secure your session
  • Optional profile fields you choose to provide

We use this information to create and maintain your account, authenticate you, restore access when you request help, and show relevant parts of the Service such as your order history.

Orders and delivery coordination

When you place or manage an order through EatClic, we process:

  • Basket contents, prices, and selected restaurant
  • Delivery address and short instructions you enter
  • Messages needed to confirm preparation and hand-off
  • Status updates shared between you, the restaurant, and an assigned delivery partner
  • Records required for customer care, dispute handling, or bookkeeping where local rules apply

Payments follow whatever methods appear during checkout (for example cash on delivery where restaurants offer it). EatClic keeps personal data related to your orders and deliveries as described here.

Location data

Customers: we may collect approximate or precise location when you search nearby restaurants or follow an active delivery, depending on the permissions you grant on your device.

Drivers: we collect location during shifts or active deliveries so restaurants and customers receive realistic pickup and arrival information.

You may withdraw location permission in your device settings. Certain features may be unavailable without it.

Driver accounts and assignments

When you use the EatClic driver application, we may process identity and contact details, availability signals, assignment history, performance indicators needed for operations (such as completion rates where used), and feedback submitted through the Service.

We use this information to offer deliveries, document completed trips, support payouts where applicable, and maintain fair use of the platform.

Customer support and inquiries

If you contact EatClic by chat, email, telephone, or any channel we provide, we process the content of your message plus identifiers needed to respond (such as account email or telephone number). We retain support records for as long as necessary to resolve the matter and to demonstrate how we handled your request.

Safety, fraud prevention, and misuse

We process usage signals such as login patterns, device type, IP address where logged, order behaviour, and reported incidents to detect duplicate accounts, fraud, harassment, or breaches of our rules.

Where abuse is suspected, we may restrict accounts or refuse service until the situation is clarified, in line with applicable law.

Service notifications

We send transactional notices tied to your orders or account (for example confirmations or delays). Where local law allows and you have not opted out, we may also send updates about features or campaigns. You may manage marketing-related communications through your account settings or device notification controls where available.

Device information and diagnostics

We collect technical details such as device model, operating system version, application version, crash logs, and related diagnostics to keep the apps stable, diagnose failures, and improve performance.

Cookies and similar technologies on the website

Our websites may use cookies or similar technologies that your browser stores for essential functions, preferences, or aggregated statistics. You may adjust cookie behaviour through your browser settings. Restricting cookies can limit some features.

Sharing personal data

We share personal data only when needed to operate the Services:

  • Restaurant partners receive order details required to prepare meals.
  • Assigned delivery partners receive information needed for pickup and drop-off.
  • Infrastructure and software providers process data on our instructions to host, secure, analyse, or communicate on our behalf.

EatClic does not sell personal data lists.

Retention periods

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described here, including customer service, accounting, litigation, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. The exact period depends on the type of data, whether an active relationship exists, and whether local law sets a minimum retention window. When retention ends, we delete data or strip identifiers where feasible.

Security

We implement administrative and technical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information we handle. No digital service can guarantee absolute security. Please protect your passwords and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Your information and your choices

We want you to stay in control of your personal data. You can ask us what we hold about you, request corrections, or ask us to delete or stop certain uses when the law allows.

If something looks incorrect or worries you, write to us using the contact details below and we will help in a straightforward way. To protect your account we may ask for a simple confirmation of identity before we change sensitive information.

Young users

The Services are intended for adults and family households placing orders together. If you believe we collected personal data from a child without appropriate guardian involvement, contact us and we will review and delete unnecessary information.

We may revise this Privacy Statement when our practices or legal requirements change. We will adjust the date labelled Last updated at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated inside the apps when appropriate.
